BIGGER & BETTER IN 2022
The Tour of the Tropics festival spans 8 days, starting on Sunday 3 July with the Ride for Isabel Gran Fondo (Yarrabah to Gordonvale). Midweek will welcome our track and social events, followed by the grand finale – the Tour of the Tropics three-day tour on Friday 8 to Sunday 10 July.
Culminating on the iconic Cairns Esplanade, the Tour of the Tropics is a proud addition to the National Road Series (NRS) calendar and caters for riders from NRS to D grade, juniors and women’s divisions with an inclusive vision for all.
All stages of the tour will be run on rolling road closures
and closed roads.
Please note riders do not require a Time Trial bike for Tour of the Tropics.

GRAN FONDO
FUNDRAISER RIDE
3 JULY 2022
The Yarrabah community is joining forces with the Far North’s premier charity to raise funds for neonatal babies at Cairns Hospital. Ride for Isabel was instigated by Mulgrave MP Curtis Pitt in 2010 after the loss of his and wife Kerry’s daughter Isabel, who was stillborn at 41 weeks.
The fundraising event in partnership with the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation will form part of the Tour of the Tropics cycling festival with a Gran Fondo 120km segment planned, to start in Yarrabah and finish in Gordonvale. The race will entail four segments; 120km; 90km; 60km and 30km. Riders can choose the distance that best suits them and avoid the hill if desired. They can race or just take on the challenge of this magnificent course.
